In the year 1920, many significantevents occurred in the United States. The United States passed twoamendments (18th for prohibition and 19th for the rightfor women to vote). Charles Ponzi came up with what we known today as the“Ponzi Scheme”. The first baseball game of the Negro League was played inIndianapolis, Indiana. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. is founded atHoward University and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. established fourundergraduate chapters at Temple University (Lambda), The University of Kansas(Mu), Purdue University (Nu), and Howard University (Xi). On October 1,1920 in Belzoni, Mississippi, a male child is born and named Eddie ColeJr. Eddie would go on to be the valedictorian of his high school andeventually make his way to Toledo, Ohio where he would pledge the greatestfraternity ever created Kappa Alpha Psi in 1947 (Beta Xi). Brother Colewould go on to become a lawyer and practice law for 60 years receiving manyaccolades along the way. This Thursday, Brother Cole, a life member ofour noble clan, will celebrate 100 years of life. Brother Cole now resides inDetroit, Michigan with his son Brother Edwin Cole (Toledo Alumni 1982). The Toledo Alumni Chapter would like to celebrate this momentous occasion bydoing a birthday drive-up to Brother Cole’s residence. If you areavailable, we would like to do this at Noon on Saturday October 3rd. His address is 1770 Strathcona Dr., Detroit, Mi. 48203.
